NDIS Update: What the Government’s recent announcement means for NDIS participants
We know many people in the NDIS community may feel worried after recent comments from the Australian Government about changes to the NDIS.
We want to reassure our participants, families and carers that there are no immediate changes to your current supports just because of this announcement.
As a registered NDIS provider, CCPC remains committed to safe, high-quality supports delivered with strong clinical and operational governance.
The Government has announced that it plans to introduce further reforms to the NDIS over the coming years. These proposed reforms are focused on:
reducing fraud and poor provider practices
slowing the rate of NDIS cost growth
tightening future eligibility rules
improving quality and oversight across the sector
The announcement also flagged possible future changes in areas such as:
social and community participation budgets
plan management and support coordination arrangements
provider registration and claims processes
how future access to the NDIS may be assessed
Importantly, many of these changes are not happening straight away. A number of the proposed reforms would require legislation, consultation, or staged rollout over future years.
What this means right now
For most participants, the key message is:
Your current plan and current supports do not automatically change because of this announcement. CCPC will continue to work with you to ensure your supports remain aligned with NDIS guidelines and within your available plan funding. At this stage, there is still more detail to come about how the proposed reforms would work in practice, who they may affect, and when.
What we are doing
We are actively monitoring the proposed changes and reviewing what they may mean for our participants and services.
Our focus is to:
keep participants informed in plain language
support people not to panic
continue delivering safe, high-quality supports
help participants understand changes if and when they are confirmed
continue offering services with strong professional governance and oversight as a registered NDIS provider
Our message to participants and families
We understand that announcements like this can create uncertainty, especially for people who already rely on the NDIS every day.
Please know:
there is no need to panic
it is okay to wait for clear information before reacting
we will continue to share updates as more is confirmed
If you have concerns about your supports, please speak with your usual CCPC contact. We will keep our community updated as more information becomes available.
