Coast & Country Primary Care Announces New Chair and Deputy Chair
Coast & Country Primary Care is pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Squire as Chair and Larissa McIntyre as Deputy Chair of the Board, following the 2025 Annual General Meeting.
About Julia Squire – Chair
Julia describes herself as British by birth, Australian by choice, and brings an impressive 38 years of leadership experience to the role. Her career includes more than 20 years in non-executive governance and 25 years as a CEO across public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
Julia began her career in the UK National Health Service, where she worked extensively in primary care, services for vulnerable communities including asylum seekers and people experiencing homelessness, mental health, and disability.
Since moving to Australia, she has continued serving in roles across public health, for-profit organisations, and not-for-profits, with a strong focus on inclusion and improving outcomes for people with disability. A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Julia joined the CCPC Board in 2022 and was elected Deputy Chair in 2023. She is honoured to now step into the role of Chair and continue contributing to CCPC’s mission and purpose.
Julia is currently a CEO in the disability and employment sector in NSW and an elected Director on the National Disability Services (NDS) Board. Outside work, Julia enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, and watching soccer.
About Larissa McIntyre – Deputy Chair
Larissa joined the CCPC Board on 29 August 2018 and previously held the role of Deputy Chair for a one-year term starting 22 November 2023. The Board is thrilled to welcome her back to this role in 2026.
Larissa brings more than 35 years of experience as a clinician across the health and aged care systems, including public and private hospitals, community health, population health, state health leadership, research, and aged care. She has extensive operational experience and multiple post-graduate qualifications.
A Nurse Practitioner currently working for a large not-for-profit aged care provider, Larissa also represents the Board on the CCPC Clinical Governance Committee. She is actively involved with national and state bodies, including:
Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) Advisory Group
Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) End of Life and Palliative Care Executive Committee
Larissa also holds a conjoint appointment with the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Newcastle. Her passions include palliative care, advanced care planning, and contributing to research in these areas. She has previously served on the Board of Alzheimer’s Australia (NSW).
In her personal time, Larissa is an active member of her local Surf Life Saving Club and enjoys time with her family, including their three dogs and cat.
